Frequently asked questions - Course Access & Policies

You've got questions. We've got answers.

How long will it take to complete the course?

You may move through the course at your own pace. We recommend allowing enough time between modules to practice the concepts rather than watching every lesson in a single sitting. You will also want to revisit modules. Note: Most of the modules are between 10 -15 minutes long. The Self-Direction modules are longer.

How long will I have access to the course?

You have access to the course as long as Thom Pinto is making it available. At this point, it’s indefinite.

Can I watch the course on a phone or tablet?

The course can be viewed through PrimetimeNarration.com on compatible computers, tablets and mobile devices. For practice exercises, you may find it easier to use a larger screen while recording separately.

Are captions or transcripts available?

[Insert the accurate accessibility information. We’ll need to figure something out for accessibility needs.]

Can I download the videos?

Course videos are available for streaming through the course platform and may not be downloaded or redistributed.

Practice scripts however, are downloadable.

Can I share my login or course materials?and answer to my FAQ section?

No. Registration is for one student. Course videos, scripts, downloads and other materials are protected content and may not be copied, shared, republished, taught or distributed without written permission.

Is there a payment plan?

Yes. There is a three-installment payment plan shown at checkout. It is not a monthly subscription and does not allow the remaining payments to be cancelled after access has been granted.

Is the course price in U.S. dollars?

Yes. All prices are listed in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated. International purchasers are responsible for any currency-conversion charges, taxes or fees applied by their bank or payment provider.

I was previously coached by Thom. Is this course still useful for me?

Yes! The course brings Thom’s Primetime Narration teaching together in an organized format that you can revisit and refresh at your own pace. Many students have asked to have him in their back-pocket. This is that!

Some concepts may be familiar to former students, but the course will help reinforce them. It also may help talent absorb material more easily, than during a single class or coaching session.

Is this course a replacement for private coaching?

No. The course provides a structured body of instruction and allows you to study Thom’s approach on your own schedule. Private coaching provides individualized direction based on your voice, habits, strengths and current performance level.

The two forms of training can complement one another, but they serve different purposes.

For new students, Thom asks that you take the Primetime Narration course before booking private coaching.

The course gives you the foundation of what he teaches, and you’ll always have it to go back to. That way, when you work together one-on-one, you can spend your time focusing on you, your reads, and where you want to grow.

If you’ve coached with Thom before, you’re always welcome to come back without taking the course first.

Will I learn Thom’s “Colors of Your Voice” technique?

No. That method and focus of education is what he taught pre-2020. This course is focused on both the foundations and advanced skills for documentary and in-show narrators.

Are scripts or practice exercises included?

Yes. The course includes scripts and exercises that allow you to apply the ideas Thom demonstrates in the lessons. Listening is useful, but the greatest benefit will come from working with the material aloud and experimenting with the performance choices being discussed.

Does the course include live classes or access to Thom?

No. However, once you are on the mailing list, you will be notified when Thom has appearances, both paid and no-cost.

Is this course about audiobooks, corporate narration or e-learning?

The principles of storytelling, script analysis and self-direction may benefit many areas of voiceover, but the course is specifically focused on documentary and in-show narration.

It is not intended to be comprehensive training in audiobooks, corporate narration, medical narration or e-learning.

Will the course teach me how to create a narration demo?

The course will help you better understand the genres, styles and performance demands that may eventually inform a primetime narration demo. And, there is a whole lesson module on advice from demo producers with a background in documentary and in-show narration.

Before producing a specialized demo, talent should have the necessary training, a clear understanding of their competitive strengths and guidance from a reputable producer who understands the current market.
